Boreal Ring App Privacy

This policy covers the Boreal Ring app for iPhone and Android, and describes what the app does with your information as of October 2026.

The Boreal Ring app

Your ring data stays on your phone. The Boreal Ring app reads your sleep, heart rate, heart rate variability, blood oxygen, skin temperature, breathing, steps, workouts and related readings from your ring over Bluetooth and keeps them on your phone. You don't need an account. We don't send your ring data to our servers, sell it, or use it for advertising.

What the app stores on your phone

• Readings from your ring, and what the app works out from them (sleep and readiness scores, trends, reports).
• What you tell it: age, height, weight and sex (to size targets and calorie estimates), goals, units, your training plans and workouts, Mind sessions, diet plan choices, and app settings.
• Your referral code and, if you link your order, a sign-in token for the referral service (kept in the phone's secure storage).

You can erase this at any time in the app (Settings, Ring and data, Erase data on this phone), or by deleting the app. Erasing the ring itself is also available in Settings.

When the app goes online. Only for these:

• Referrals (optional). If you link your order to see your referrals, the app sends your order email and referral code to our referral service so it can email you a one-time code and show your referrals and store credit. Friends are shown by first initial only.
• Check for updates. On iPhone, the app asks the App Store which version is current. On Android, it asks Google Play.
• Links you open. Sharing your referral link or a share card, or opening our website, uses the apps you choose.

Permissions

• Bluetooth: to connect to your ring. It is never used to find your location. On older Android versions (10 and 11), Android requires the location permission for Bluetooth scanning; the app doesn't read or store your location.
• Notifications (optional): reminders you turn on, created on your phone.
• Photos, add only (optional): to save a share card when you tap Save.
• Internet: for the features listed above.

No tracking. The app contains no advertising, analytics or crash-tracking services, and no third-party trackers.

Sharing. Nothing from the app is shared unless you choose to share it (for example, a workout card or your referral link), and then only with the people or apps you pick.

Wellness, not medical. Boreal Ring shows wellness trends. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat or monitor any condition.

Children. Boreal Ring is not intended for children under 16.

Changes. If what the app collects changes, we'll update this page and say so in the app before the change takes effect.
